Patrick's Bio:

Patrick Riviere has been in the theatrical sandbox most of his life as a performer, playwright, director, producer, teacher and arts administrator. He recently co-directed The Great Plastic Surgeon of Oz as part of the New York City Bad Musicals Festival and also just finished playing the role of Manos in OPA! part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival. Other recent credits include: directing productions of Wizard of Oz for KJK Productions; Clarence in the Surflight Theatre production of A Wonderful Life and Farther Farley in the All Seasons Theare Company production of Mass Appeal.

Patrick has performed over 100 roles in theatre, film and television since he began performing at the age of ten.  His professional resume is quite impressive and his work has earned him critical acclaim highlighted by performances as The Purser in the Broadway on the Boardwalk production of Anything Goes at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, Che in Evita at ArtPark, Stewpot in South Pacific at Candlewood and Snoopy in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at ECST.  Off-Broadway: Welcome To Our City at The Mint Theatre, Babes In Toyland at Symphony Space, and the NYC revival of The Robber Bridegroom at Theatre Off-Park.

He has had the great privilege to work with Broadway directors Michael Greif and Stafford Arima; famed choreographer, Gemze de Lappe; RSC director Maurice Daniels; and Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winning composer Charles Strouse on both the North American Premiere of I and Albert and a production of Rags.  Patrick Riviere has recorded demo CD’s for several new musicals including: Go Go Beach, Perfume and most recently, The Really BIG Pirate Show!  He has also just completed recording voices for the PIE Story Theatre Holiday CD. 

His poetry and art book Flowers in Autumn: endings and beginnings was published last year and his play, The House of Nunzio was named a semi-finalist for both the 2003 Mill Mountain Theatre New Play Competition and the Twenty-Sixth Annual Mildred and Albert Panowski Playwriting Award.  He wrote the book/lyrics for a children’s musical, Prince Watersplasher, which received a reading with the SCI Youth Ensemble in Manhattan and has adapted numerous children’s stories for PIE (including a ten-minute version of A Christmas Carol entitled Old Mr. Scrooge).  Patrick Riviere co-founded The Emerging Artists Project, Inc., was Industry Professional Liaison and a member of the Adjunct Faculty for the Drama Department at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.  He has worked for Second Stage Theatre, Arts Horizons and The Hudson Riverfront Performing Arts Center.  He is a proud member of AEA, AFTRA and SAG.
